严宜舒，博士，服装与纺织品创新设计、数码针织设计实践与研究者。分别于香港理工大学、伦敦艺术大学及南京艺术学院获得博士、硕士及学士学位。作品曾在美国、英国、法国、日本、西班牙、墨西哥、孟加拉等多个国家及地区展出并获奖。2019年作品被中国丝绸博物馆收藏，2020年在香港理工大学服装馆举行个人作品展。

Yishu Yan, PhD, practical researcher of innovative fashion and textile design and digital knitting design. She obtained her doctor’s, master’s, and bachelor’s degrees from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, University of Arts London, and Nanjing University of Arts, respectively. Her art and design works have been exhibited and awarded in the USA, UK, France, Japan, Spain, Mexico, and Bangladesh. Her fashion design work has been collected by China National Silk Museum in 2019. A solo exhibition of Yishu’s design research has been held in Fashion Gallery, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2020.

中国传统建筑设计中，营造虚实相交的环境空间是极为重要的议题。以从无到有的空间构成哲学为灵感，利用数码针织技术设计及编织了特殊的方圆孔洞面料，隐喻中文中“方圆”的概念在空间尺度中的多重释义，并同时构建出实中有虚的平面空间。面料层叠交错、组合成为可以穿着的衣衫，平面空间也转向三维立体。随着人体曲线的起伏及身体的活动，一种动态的、可穿着的虚实之间便由此构建出来。光与影、静与动、建筑与服装、传统哲学与现代技术都存在于“方圆之间”。

Establishing a matrix that is in the between reality and imagination is always one essential subject in Chinese traditional architecture design. Taking this design philosophy of something from nothing as an inspiration, an exclusive style of open-work fabric has developed through digital knitting technology, in which the hole is specially designed to be square with rounded corners, which metaphors the multiple interpretations of the concept of "Fangyuan" in Chinese in the spatial scale, meanwhile, constructs a plane space with real and virtual. When layering and assembly these 2D cloths to 3D clothing, dynamic and wearable contrast of solidness and void are established with the rise and fall of the body and its movements. Light and shadow, static and dynamic, architecture and fashion, traditional philosophy and modern technology all exist in this "Fangyuan" (dimension).
