在我们的生活中,承载着五花八门文化信息的大量纸媒体如烟云一样不断掠过,也不断积压在物质世界的垃圾场上等待处理与再生。王雷在其中如一个传统“敬惜字纸”的捡拾者,苦苦寻求着,将这些曾经有价值的字纸造化出另一个视觉层次——报纸、人像(也可以是别的)分别提示着社会对新闻清楚、模糊、碎片或断章取义的不同采纳方式,也让他的编织手艺不止于编织。(吕胜中)


In our life, large amounts of paper media bearing diverse cultural information constantly vanish like mist and smoke which are continuously backlogged in the garbage dump of material world, waiting for their disposal and regeneration. Here, Wang Lei, just like a ragpicker traditionally “cherishing papers with printed words”, hunting for them strenuously, finally he endows these ever valuable printed papers with another visual layer--newspapers, and portraits (not limited only to human figures) call to mind how arbitrarily society consumes media information which also shifts his attention from the craft of weaving to its metaphysics.(Lv Shengzhong)
