作品是《以柏拉图之名》系列作品之一《以太》。柏拉图认为世界是由水(正二十面体)、火(正四面体)、土(正六面体)、气(正八面体)和以太(正十二面体)组成的。每个元素都用一个形状表示。柏拉图用模糊的方式写道:“上帝用规则的十二面体来确定整个天空的星座。”

中国古代哲学家认为,世界是由金、木、水、火、土组成的,每种元素都可以用一种颜色来表示。白色代表金属,绿色代表木材,黑色代表水,红色代表火,黄色代表土地。在中国哲学观念中,心生水,水生木,木生火,火生土,土生金。它强调了一个完整的概念,这是一个完整的循环,使世界工作。

该系列作品是共10件,设计结合了中西方的哲学思想而创作。

作品《以太》是这个系列之一,它使用了“以太”元素。不仅使用了规则的十二面体结构,也从音乐、数学等方面汲取了灵感。裙子的前面黑白色旋转包含一个非常精确的数列关系。使这件衣服有新的视觉效果。

这样的几何系列,在某种程度上,更像是一个教学实验,用服装来表达人与自然的关系和对三维空间的探索。虽然作品充满了数字序列,均衡和对称,但设计师仍然希望设计传达出未来自由的感觉。


The theme of the series is “In the Name of Plato”. Plato thought that the world is composed of water(regular icosahedron), fire (regular tetrahedron), earth(regular hexahedron), air(regular octahedron) and aether(regular dodecahedron). Every element is represented by a shape. The fifth element, aether, is dodecahedron. Plato wrote about it in an indistinct way, “God use regular dodecahedron to settle the constellations in the whole heaven.” Chinese ancient philosophers believed that the world is composed by metal, wood, water, fire, earth and every element can be represented by a color. White represents metal, green wood, black water,  red fire, and yellow earth.  In Chinese philosophic concept, mental generates water, water generates wood, wood generates fire, fire generates earth, earth generates metal.It emphasizes a concept of integrity, which is a complete circulation that makes the world work.  This series have 10 works, the design of the combination of Chinese and Western philosophy and creation.

Work--《Aether》

The dress is the one of this series, it uses the element of aether. Actually nobody  really care what aether was. It just wanted to create mysterious visual effect of  future; it uses not only the structure of regular dodecahedron. The black and white rotation on the front of the skirt contains a very precise sequence relationship. It made a new design to give this dress a new visual effect. 

      To some extent, this series works  more like a teaching experiment that uses clothes to express the human-and- nature relationship and the exploration of three-dimensional space.  Although these works are full of rational sequence of numbers, equalization and symmetry, but disegner still hope that  design conveys the
